There’s more good news for the collegiate circuit during quarantine. The Florida Mayhem have announced a tournament called the “Mayhem Collegiate Rumble” for universities in Sunshine State to compete in Overwatch.
The rumble is set to take place on May 27th at 5pm, and will feature eight of Florida’s top Overwatch esports universities:
- University of Central Florida (Esports at UCF)
- University of Florida (UF Orange)
- Florida Southern College (Florida Southern Mocs)
- Full Sail University (Full Sail Armada)
- Florida Atlantic University (FAU Red)
- University of South Florida (Video Game Club at USF)
- Florida State University (Florida State Garnet)
- Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU Thunderbirds)
The Mayhem are putting up a $5,000 prize pool for partaking in the tournament. As indicated in the organization’s press release, prizes will be awarded to the top 4 teams in the following distributions:
- 1st place – $2,000 (40% of total prize pool)
- 2nd place – $1,500 (30% of total prize pool)
- 3rd place – $1,000 (20% of total prize pool)
- 4th place – $500 (10% of the total prize pool)
