DETAILS REGARDING THE OLYMPICS-RELATED ROCKET LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

Intel initially released details months ago, but now we have more official information to go on regarding its Olympics-related Rocket League event, the Intel World Open. The event will take place in Tokyo in July and marks the first-ever official country-based tournament in Rocket League history following its unofficial World Cup held back in 2017.

Teams battling for gold:Eight teams will be playing on the stage in Tokyo. However, teams will need to qualify first, which will happen through several stages. Some countries have guaranteed spots for a team in the Live Qualifiers, whereas others have more of an uphill struggle to endure to secure a spot. The countries include Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, and United States.

Some additional rules: The Olympic Intel World Open will not allow coaches on stage with the team during the team’s match. Additionally, licensed cars with unique hitboxes, such as the Batmobile, in addition to organization decals, will not be allowed either.
